Cristina Maria Klas

Artist

Graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná, 1983.

She took the Free Course and the Advanced Course, 2003 and 2004, with the illustrator Fatima Zagonel.

In 2011, she began the Distance Learning Course, from The Society of Botanical Artists, from the United Kingdom; she graduated with Distinction, in 2013.

She has been a member of the group of illustrators of the Botanical Illustration Center of Paraná - CIBP, since 2005 and, since then, has participated in all of the group's exhibitions and shows.

The work Araucaria angustifolia was selected for Focus on Nature XI, a biannual exhibition of Scientific Illustration, at the New York State Museum, in Albany, New York, 2010. The same work was awarded at the 1st Exhibition of Regional Flora: Vegetation Formations of the State of Santa Catarina, 2010. A fine art reproduction of this work was presented, through Itamaraty, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Brazilian Government, to the Emperor of Japan, in 2015.
